HOME / Innovation Commons – en förstudie
A Vinnova-funded preliminary study was conducted from November 2023 to March 2024 to explore how commons for innovation ecosystems can be organized and managed to meet complex societal challenges and support sustainable transformation in accordance with Agenda 2030.
During the preliminary study, a comprehensive mapping and analysis of existing models were carried out, along with interviews with financiers and implementers. There was broad consensus on the need to change current financing structures to promote long-term sustainable business models for shared assets, known as commons, within innovation ecosystems.
A recurring issue is that current project financing often leads to assets becoming outdated quickly without active management and further development. There is a strong need to create incentives to maintain and continuously update these assets.
