How can data and the collection of data in the physical environment create the conditions to increase students' well-being and contribute to increased learning? Welcome to a seminar where we share knowledge from the project "IoT in the school for everyone".

What are the needs of the school - and how can IoT technology and data collection contribute to solving these needs. This is the basis for a learning project, where Arvika Municipality, together with DigitalWell Arena, Scaaler and Karlstad University, among others, investigates how IoT (Internet of Things) can contribute to better student health. The test environment for these questions is Minnebergsskolan in Arvika, a brand new upper secondary school that was inaugurated for the autumn semester 2021.

The project is financed by Vinnova and brings together several different interests in a unique way:

  • The school, which wants to learn how operations with the support of digital technology can be developed to improve the health of students and increase learning.
  • The companies', which get an opportunity to test IoT technology in a real environment. In addition, conditions are provided for a dialogue with schools and researchers who can provide increased knowledge to develop new services.
  • Of the researchers, who try to learn more about the introduction of the technology and the innovation process in the complex environment that a school constitutes.

Among other things, we learn more about:

  • How increased collection and use of data can increase the school's knowledge
  • What technology we have in place, what data is collected and what is possible to measure
  • What challenges linked to health do staff and students see, based on a study by Karlstad University

A warm welcome!

Robert Rhönnstad from Scaaler, one of the project's partners, in Minnebergsskolan's courtyard.

When: October 25 at 14-16
