Winners leading the way for health innovation

For the second year, the DigitalWell Awards highlighted digital health innovations that can contribute to a better and healthier world. From that perspective, there were only winners among the 16 nominated initiatives.

The DigitalWell Award has been created by Compare and DigitalWell Arena with the aim of highlighting the people and initiatives that contribute to the health innovations of the future. A total of 30 candidates were nominated this year - and during yesterday evening the 16 finalists gathered in the orangery at Olsson's Bazar in Karlstad to await the jury's and the audience's choice.

Close to 700 votes were received and in the end four winners could be chosen in as many categories. All have also contributed in a concrete way to developing DigitalWell Arena's ecosystem and created new opportunities for others.

Per Danielsson, Regional Lawyer in Region Värmland: Innovative capacity through collaboration

His expertise has paved the way for a completely new type of innovative procurement, which gives the public sector new tools to create digital health and welfare services in collaboration with business.

Therese Sundström, Innothr: The individual's participation

Which creates a tool that will provide increased security and independence for children with type 1 diabetes and the people in their vicinity.

Care to Translate: Data & Digital Technology

A translation app that paves the way for increased understanding in care, regardless of language.

Magnus Lindström, Nordic Medtest: Service development and commercialization

Their expertise in testing and validating digital health innovations contributes to a sense of security that, in the long run, increases the possibilities for the services to be tested in a real environment.

Winning team for health innovation: Per Danielsson, Magnus Lindström, Mari Banck (development manager at Region Värmland who received the award for Care to Translate), Therese Sundström and Marie Granander.

Most emotional was the innovator Therese Sundström, whose daughter was the inspiration for the digital service that is now being created to support both children and families living with diabetes.

    - First of all, I want to thank Ellinor, who is the reason why this is being done at all. It also shows that self-perceived frustration is something you can turn into something big that benefits many. I also want to thank Sticky Beat, which is much more than a regular supplier, and DigitalWell Arena, which promotes all these important initiatives, said Therese Sundström.

In addition to honor and appreciation, the winners are also offered a path to increased knowledge - as DigitalWell Arena offers a place on a joint trip to a conference in digital health in 2022/2023.

Marie Granander, project manager for DigitalWell Arena, was delighted with all the innovative pioneers highlighted in the nomination process. Their initiatives can also bring great benefits to society as a whole.

    - It takes courage and great commitment to pursue innovation issues in the health field, while the potential to create an effect that makes a real difference is great.
