Doctoral students support companies in national investment in cyber security

Six Swedish universities are planning an industry-focused national research program in cyber security. The program is aimed at companies that want to take part in this unique competence investment in cyber security. Is it your company we are looking for?

Cyber attacks against Swedish companies cost billions. The rapid technological development creates both business opportunities and a growing threat picture. Therefore, six Swedish universities, with the support of the KK Foundation, are planning an industry-focused national research program in cyber security.

What does the research program entail?

For up to five years, a newly hired or internally recruited PhD student participates in a research program whose main purpose is to equip your company to take on the challenges in cyber security. The study part is about combining university studies with on-site research in the company's operations.

The main part – 80 percent – of the program is practical work carried out in the own business. The doctoral student must focus entirely on his company's challenges, with the support of leading researchers in the field from a number of Swedish universities.

    • Give your company excellence in cyber security
    • Take part in a unique opportunity for networking at the highest level
    • A unique career opportunity for employees to grow and obtain a PhD in cyber security

    A co-financed competence investment

The entire program is co-financed by the KK foundation and six Swedish universities: Karlstad, Malmö, Blekinge, Skövde and Örebro, as well as the Defense Academy. The participating company receives one wage cost support of SEK 1.4 million. The company is only responsible for the remaining salary costs.
