Karlstad municipality has started a procurement to develop a completely new, digital service. The target image for "Digital solution for guidance in the city" is that people with cognitive challenges to a greater extent should be able to independently take part in the city's offer.
- Precisely "guidance in the city" for the target group of people with cognitive challenges is a question that we thought about and tried to solve for quite some time. Being independent is important for everyone and especially important for people with limitations in life, as you are often dependent on others, says Ann-Sophie Gustafsson, development manager at the care and social care unit.
The procurement is done with the support of Demand Acceleration methodology, which was developed in DigitalWell Arena. This means that the municipality of Karlstad procures an innovation project, where several companies can participate to develop the digital service in close cooperation with the business. Initially, up to five suppliers can be procured for the initial concept phase.
Diffusion of services central principle
The principle of developing services that solve a greater need in the public sector is driving the Demand Acceleration methodology. The process aims to ensure that the services that are developed can also be scaled up on the market. The business viability contributes to the services being able to live on and develop, which also benefits the customer who first procured the service.
In addition to innovative companies, other municipalities that are interested in the service are also welcome to participate in the development work.
