At the autumn's first TechLunch, we will be hosted by Christina Ramm-Ericson, who is head of economic policy at the IT & telecom companies. She will present the most important parts of the report "Tech - Sweden's new basic industry". An industry that increasingly contributes to innovation and creates great value in society.
The tech sector has become an increasingly important part of society, a prerequisite for our economic development and for how we live our lives. A compilation shows that the industry's contribution to GDP has grown by as much as 1,300 percent since 1981 and amounted to a total of SEK 281 billion in 2020.
Christina takes us on a journey from what we have traditionally called IT and telecoms to our new base for the Swedish economy – the Tech industry. It includes companies in, for example, computer games, health (healthtech), finance (fintech) and education (edtech).
