DigitalWell Arena hosts healthcare track at AI symposium

DigitalWell Arena is hosting a track covering AI in healthcare at AIM North Symposium 2022 in Oslo on April 6th. DigitalWell Ventures is also launching a demo day at the event – giving their accelerator companies access to a key part of the ecosystem.

AIM North is Norway's biggest live community for stakeholders interested in artificial intelligence. The symposium on April 6th gathers more than 70 different speakers, covering all aspects of AI and representing both the private and public sector, as well as the academia.

DigitalWell Arena is hosting one of four break-out sessions, focusing on AI in healthtech. One of the speakers is Ishita Barua, MD & researcher at Oslo University Hospital. She was in 2021 named one of the top 30 women in Norway changing the field of Artificial Intelligence, by The Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Research Consortium. Ishita Barua is doing research on AI in gastrointestinal endoscopy and the general integration of AI in clinical decision-making.

    - Sweden and Norway face very similar challenges coping with health and welfare in the future, so we are really excited taking part of new ideas and finding new collaborations, says Marie Granander, Project Manager of DigitalWell Arena.

Magnus Bårdén, Managing Director of DigitalWelll Arena, speaking at AIM North in 2019. Now the Symposium in Oslo re-opens post Corona.

AIM North is also creating a scene (AIM-X) where startups get the opportunity to showcase their business, expand their network and attract investors. All the companies of DigitalWell Ventures accelerator will take part in this event, which also includes a "Shark Tank" where profiled investors give straight forward feedback. Trond Riiber Knudsen, Christian Rangen and Ingrid Vasiliu-Feltes are some of "The Sharks" joining the session.

    - We are really looking forward to presenting our companies to a bigger audience. Pitching at AIM North is a great opportunity for the startups to sharpen their pitches and retrieve feedback from high profile investors, says Stefan Skoglund, Innovation Manager of Digital Well Ventures.

AIM North is also creating a bridge for the cross-border cooperation between Sweden and Norway to evolve. The event takes place at Oslo Metropolitan University, which together with locations in Karlstad and Arvika offers co-working spaces for the companies of DigitalWell Venture's dual-location accelerator.

DigitalWell Arena is also preparing an Interreg Sweden-Norway project with Digital Inlandet, focusing on innovation and digitalization of healthcare and industry also including cybersecurity. The parties recently met in Karlstad where about 30 organizations from several different industries took part. As a result of the cooperation Digital Innlandet has brought two very existing startups in cybersecurity to enter AIM-X. Mobai, working with face recognition, and AIBA who use keystroke analysis to uncover “cyber grooming”.
